What You Will Learn
Using Lessons 1–8 of 《時代華語 1》(Modern Chinese, Book 1), you will gradually develop your understanding of Mandarin pronunciation, tones, vocabulary, sentence patterns, and everyday conversations.
You will practise using what you learn through pair work, role-play, listening activities, and everyday communication tasks. Basic reading and writing activities will support your progress.
Regular review sessions will help you consolidate your learning and prepare for further Mandarin study.

Joyce brings more than 10 years of experience in Mandarin teaching, international education, and cross-cultural training.
Education
◎Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, National Chengchi University, Taiwan.
◎Bachelor’s degree in Education, University of Pretoria, South Africa.
Teaching Expertise

●Joyce’s professional background includes full-time Mandarin teaching at a Chinese school in South Africa, Mandarin programme operations and teacher-training planning, and educational product development at Taiwan Knowledge Bank (TKB).
●She led the development of Mandarin learning materials and a Chinese-character learning app that received an iF Design Award.
●She has also worked in international marketing at National Taiwan Normal University, promoting an online reading platform overseas.

●Students who complete the course and meet the attendance requirement will receive a certificate of completion from the Taoyuan Branch of the School of Continuing Education, Chinese Culture University.
●Absences must not exceed 20% of the total course hours.
